    Program Goal: To manage, support, evaluate, and initiate improvement of the Administrators' Academy.
    Purpose: The Academy is the exclusive provider of statewide, regionally-based required professional development opportunities for school administrators. The Academy provides training for administrators in evaluating certified personnel, elective professional development related to school improvement, and accountability and instructional leadership.
    Population and
    Service Levels:
    The population served Includes all elementary and secondary school administrators in Illinois. Approximately 11,000 administrators are eligible for Administrators' Academy services.
    Reimbursement/
    Distribution Method
    Formula grants are distributed to 44 Regional Offices of Education (ROE'S) and four Intermediate Service Centers (ISO's), including the ISC for Chicago School District #299.

    In FY00 and FY01, Chicago received $84,200 (13.5%) through the Chicago Block Grant.

    In FY02, Chicago will receive 13.5% of the final grant appropriation as part of the Chicago Block Grant.

    • Content information is relevant and useful to administrators.
    • Professional development activities align with the Professional School Leaders Standards and the Illinois Learning Standards.
    • A variety of instructional delivery techniques provided by trained instructors meet the needs of multiple learning styles.
    • Evaluations, provided for each activity, are part of the continuous improvement plan for the provider.
    • Accurate records on professional development are maintained and administrators are informed of their status regarding compliance with Academy credits.
