Gifted Education Seminar Online Delivery Session I
The Gifted Education Seminar is a 45 hour course of study replacing the former Gifted Education Institute. The Illinois State Board of Education invites classroom teachers to deepen their understanding of how to teach and reach gifted students within their classroom. The goal of the training, “Educators will be able to create an environment to identify gifted learners, address their diverse needs, and measure student growth in the classroom,” will be accomplished through modules including perspectives of gifted, knowing the gifted, differentiation, and curriculum models.
ISBE has designated funding for the 2009-2010 year to provide this training to Illinois public school teachers at NO COST. This training will provide 45 CPDUs free, or if preferred, 3 graduate hours from Lindenwood University at a cost of $200. In addition, upon successful completion a stipend of $100 will be given to each participant.
Participants will receive two textbooks and USB Drive with animated instructional modules.
Participants will need and should bring a laptop computer with a USB drive, wireless connection, and Adobe Reader installed, and their personal IEIN number.
