FREE Gifted Education Seminar & Stipend Two Day Training & 30 Hours on Your Own
Gifted Education Seminar Two Day Training & 30 Hours On Your Own
We have RtI interventions for the struggling students, but what do we do for the students who catch on quickly? The Illinois State Board of Education invites you to deepen your understanding of how to teach and reach talented and gifted students in the regular classroom. This FREE gifted seminar is a 45 hour course of study replacing the former "Gifted Education Institute." Each participant will receive a USB drive that contains 30 hours of DVD viewing and assignments between the two day of training. The training consists of an Overview and Perspectives, Knowing the Gifted, Differentiation, Gifted Models that work in classrooms, and Closing. Implementation and Follow up support will be offered by the ROE.
Come learn how to create an environment to identify gifted and talented learners, address their diverse needs, and measure student growth in the classroom. Anyone interested in Gifted Education (administrators, teachers, counselors) should attend. Participants will receive two books: Achieving Excellence Educating the Gifted and Talented by Frances A. Karnes & Kristen R. Stephens and Differentiation: Simplified, Realistic, and Effective by Bertie Kingore.
