Mentoring, Part 1 (First Year Mentoring for Teachers)
Research has shown that new teachers development further and at a faster rate with the guidance of a trained mentor teacher. During this two-day workshop, practices, strategies, and language skills that build collaboration and trust will be introduced. Those enrolled for graduate credit to be issued in May 2011, must mentor a first year teacher during the 10-11 school year. In order to maximize their ability to meet the needs of their new teacher, participants are encouraged to complete Mentoring, Part 2 during the same school year. Free for Lee/Ogle Schools; $150 for out of region cost.
