Building Effective Teaming Skills (with Students and Teachers)
This course seeks to build qualities that characterize effective teams from two perspectives: the students in the classroom as a team and the teacher as a member on a school team. Through group problem solving activities and teambuilding events, participants will explore the stages of group development, group process and dynamics, and build facilitation skills. Effective communication skills will be a focus. Learning teams will study current research, apply strategies in their classrooms, and analyze challenges and successes. Through the combination of mini-lecture, individual study, professional readings and learning team activities, participants will develop an implementation plan and portfolio of teambuilding strategies for classroom use. $150.00 for Lee/Ogle SIP Coop members; $375 for Non-members. REPEAT FROM SPRING 2004.
